Disgrace: Nigerian man caught with 100 capsules of cocaine in Dubai gets judgement

– The suspected was sentenced to prison and will be deported A Nigerians man has been sentenced in Dubai after he was caught with 100 capsules of cocaine in his stomach.

According to Khaleej Times, the Nigerian was caught at Dubai International Airport in April.

A policeman who was present at the operation room narrated how doctors retrieved the cocaine kept inside 100 capsules from the suspect’s stomach.

“I was assigned to stand guard on the accused at the hospital. He had just been referred by the airport police officers after he was suspected of smuggling capsules containing drugs in his stomach. “As many as 100 capsules containing drugs were found.

I seized and handed them over to the anti-narcotics department.” The court found him guilty and ordered him to pay Dh100,000 worth of fine. He was convicted of smuggling drugs via transit sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

The drug was confiscated and the court ordered that he should be deported after the completion of his sentence. The General Directorate of Criminal Evidence confirmed that the capsules contained 1.9 kgs of cocaine each. Meanwhile, Abiodun Israel Banjo was arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) after he was found with parcels of methamphetamine.

The Nigerian who resides in Pretoria, South Africa was arrested with the banned drug at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. Mitchell Ofoyeju who is he spokesperson of NDLEA explained that the arrest took place during the outward screening of passengers on a South African Airline flight to South Africa. The drug was valued at N31 million.
